
Beulaville is a community ideally located in Duplin County, just 45
minutes from the beautiful Atlantic Coast. NC 41 and NC 24 are two
main roads that pass through Beulaville making Wilmington, Raleigh
and Research Triangle Park a short hour and a half drive.
The Town of Beulaville is named for Beulah Baptist Church and
was chartered in 1915. The town is intersected by Highways 24, 41
and 111 and is served by the Albert Ellis Airport only 12 miles
east. Newspapers in the area include three daily, one semi-weekly
and two weekly. Radio and TV reception is excellent and cable is
available. Beulaville offers the quiet comfort of tree-lined streets,
parks and open space for children. Beulaville's attractive homes
are mostly occupant owned, but rental homes and apartements are
also available. The churches represent all major denominations making
Beulaville a friendly, family oriented community.
Approximately 1,097 citizens live in Beulaville and are served by the town's well-equipped volunteer fire and rescue department. Four full-time policemen and county deputies also serve the area with 24 hour a day protection, making it a safe town to live.
Beulaville's water department offers a maximum water yield per
day of 150,000 gallons and the sewage treatment plant is capable
of handling 260,000 gallons per day. Telephone service is provided
by Sprint and electricity is provided by Progress Energy. Cable
television is available and cellular service is also available in
the area.
Educational facilities in Beulaville include Beulaville Elementary (K-8) with a special program for 4-year old children and East Duplin High School. Several universities and community colleges are within a 12 to 50 mile radius with off-campus adult education offered. Many in the Beulaville community commute daily to East Carolina University and
UNC-Wilmington. Daycare facilities, preschool and after-school programs are available.
Medical services in Beulaville are provided by a dentist, optometrist, optician and a medical center staffed by three doctors. Duplin General Hospital is just twelve miles away and East Carolina Regional Medical Schools are an hour away. For those who are unable to live independently, there is a lovely rest home, nursing homes and an elderly apartment complex. All of these facilities provide an excellent living environment for senior citizens. Veterinary services are also available.
Civic and cultural organizations abound in Beulaville including
the Lions Club, Ruritans, Masons and Eastern Star. During the summer,
theater activities are presented in Kenan Memorial Amphitheater
and the Kenan Memorial Auditorium. Concerts and other entertainment
activities are also performed during the year in nearby towns. East
Duplin High School in Beulaville has an outstanding 600-seat Fine
Arts Building that may be used for meetings and events in addition
to theater.
Tennis and basketball courts are available and several golf courses are nearby. Fishing and boating in area rivers, lakes and ponds are available for the outdoor lover. Cabin Lake Recreation Park, a 130 acre recreation area with a 68-acre lake north of Beulaville, provides fishing, picnicking, boating, camping, swimming and a nature trail for walking around the lake.
Historically, agriculture and more recently industrial development have contributed significantly to the growth and progress of the town. National Spinning, Inc., Precision Hydraulics, Industrial Hydraulics and Allied along with several other new and growing businesses have created skilled jobs and opportunities in our community. Many of our neighbors commute daily to nearby major regional employers. The new Global TransPark is under development approximately 30 miles away and both state ports are within easy reach. Available labor, good land, water and sewer, and a local financial loan program provide the right ingredients for an ideal location for business.
