Duplin County Health Department's mission is to provide prevention and protection measures to ensure the health of the community and the environment. The staff of this department includes the health director, director of nursing, registered nurses, health educators, maternal outreach workers, care coordination nurses, child healthcare consultant, translators, clerical and housekeeping staff.

Duplin County Health Services is a multi-faceted agency that strives to make Duplin County a healthier and safer community in which to work and live. As an effort to keep abreast of Duplin County's health needs, representatives from the health department actively serve on a wide variety of community committees. Representatives also participate in community events such as health fairs, fundraisers, panel discussions and give presentations on various health topics. Every effort is made to keep the public informed of health information and health related news through community wide press releases in local media.

We have a qualified bi-lingual staff to provide interpreter services to Duplin County Health Services clients enhancing communication during direct service delivery.

The health department's services are covered by Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance and a sliding fee scale is used for patient pay.

The Duplin County Health Department has received numerous awards for their service including the Kettner Clinic Productivity Award and Glaxco Smith Kline Child Health Recognition Award.
