The work of the Department of Veterans Services involves quasi-legal assistance to claimants and in general the responsibility of acting as the claimants advocate. Responsibilities also include coordination with District Veterans Service Officers and County Veterans Service Officers and the duties involve contact with state, county and federal officials, lawyers, doctors other professionals as well as the general public.
