Paramedic Level Care will soon be a reality for Duplin County . Having recently received final approval from North Carolina , Duplin County EMS will be able to offer the most advanced medical service ever to the citizens of Duplin County beginning July.

What could Paramedic Level mean to you or your loved ones? A good question best answered by Duplin's EMS Director, Curtis Brock. “We have always had good service on the Basic EMT level, but moving to Paramedic Level allows us to provide more than just advanced medical services in an emergency situation. The ability to administer certain medications and procedures could undoubtedly improve the outcome of the situation.”

In an example of a heart attack, a paramedic will administer medications on the scene that will actually stop the damage to the heart muscle, therefore possibly improving the patient's immediate situation prior to transport to the medical facility. Ultimately, the Quality of Life after medical attention will also be improved. The following diagrams have been provided as examples of what levels of medical services can be administered for comparison purposes.
