Majestic Muscadine Makes Its Debut

The Muscadine Harvest Festival is proud to introduce a special vintage of wine - Majestic Muscadine. Majestic Muscadine promises to be one of the favorite choices at the upcoming Wine Tasting Event held during the Festival scheduled for October 1st at the Duplin County Events Center in Kenansville, NC.

Jonathan Fussell of Duplin Winery stated that this specialty wine was produced from Duplin's own estate grown Muscadine grapes. The idea for a festival wine was always a top priority for the festival committee (which Fussell is a member) and Duplin's offer to craft a special edition wine seemed a perfect fit. “It helps the promotion of the festival, and it also helps get our name out,” Fussell said. With only 6,000 bottles released, the limited supply is expected to move quickly.

Not only do those who purchase this Inaugural Vintage get a fine wine, but also fine art. The label for the wine is actually a reproduction of the festival poster created by Thomas Bennett, artist in residence at The North Carolina Museum of Natural Science in Raleigh, NC.

The medium sweet white wine will couple well with chicken or seafood and is available for purchase at Duplin Winery, Rose Hill; The Country Squire, Kenansville; The Mad Boar, Wallace; and all Jackson's IGA Stores, Beulaville, Kenansville and Pink Hill.

The Muscadine Harvest Festival opens with educational seminars at 9:00 a.m. Wine tasting begins at 10:00 a.m., and the Beach Music Concerts begin at 12:00 noon . For more information or to purchase tickets visit www.muscadineharvestfestival.com or call (910) 296-2181.
