Duplin County Celebrates 3rd Raza Festival

The 3rd annual “Celebration of the Raza Festival” was held on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at B.F. Grady Elementary School in Albertson , NC . Festival goers enjoyed many cultural activities including music, games, and everyone's favorite—food!

The Festival de la Raza—Festival of Race—is the season of Hispanic independence, since Mexico and most countries of Central and South America celebrate liberation in September and October.

“Bringing unity of the citizens of Duplin County to celebrate Raza Festival 2005 was one of the main goals this year” states Juvencio Rocha Peralta, President of AMEXCAN—sponsors of the event.
