The 4th Annual Duplin County Expo was a Success
Positive comments were made by both vendors and visitors regarding the Duplin County Expo held March 3 and 4 at the Duplin County Event Center. Vendors (130+ of them) filled the new venue with their products and services and were more than pleased with the record attendance for the event. The event sponsored each year by Duplin First Council drew over 3,000 guests, vendors, and entertainers for 2006.
The excitement began with an opening ceremony and ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m. on Friday (March 3). Entertainment was around the clock and enjoyed by all this year. With a stage set up and stadium seating available, the Event Center proved an excellent venue to showcase Duplin's Talent.
Vendor booths were judged on Friday evening for originality, complexity in design and overall appearance. Awards were given to: 1st Place - Olive Branch Nursery / Northeast Mud Sling; 2nd Place - Relay for Life of Duplin County; and 3rd Place - Personal Touch Gifts of Warsaw.
To paraphrase Kenansville's Mayor, Betty Long, "The Expo was both educational and enjoyable. It's amazing all the things that Duplin County has to offer."
