When Precision Hydraulic Cylinders, Inc. found itself outgrowing its space in Beulaville, a decision had to be made. Chris Barclay, president and CEO, decided to stay in Duplin County citing the dedicated workforce as one of the positives. A ribbon cutting was held on January 4 th at SouthPark Business and Industry Center near Wallace on NC Hwy. 11 to celebrate not only a new business locating in the Wallace area, but also the expansion of an existing business in Duplin County. Precision Hydraulic Cylinders began fabrication of components in their Wallace facility that will fit the forklift cylinders made in their Beulaville plant the week of January 10 th .

Precision purchased the 24,000 square foot building from the Wallace 100 Committee in October of 2004. The company said purchasing a building that needed up-fitting allowed them to modify the structure to their design. Dwight Hall, president of the Wallace 100 Committee, praised the efforts of his predecessors for having the vision to provide a spec building to attract companies like this.

Commissioner Reginald A. Wells said, “any growth, whether old or new, is good (for Duplin County ). We will continue to encourage our existing businesses to expand.” Duplin's Economic Development Director, Woody Brinson , thanked all the players involved in making this a team effort. “Precision had the opportunity to leave Duplin; because of all of your help, they made the decision to stay.”
