
The Duplin County School system includes fifteen area schools from
grades K-12 with nearly 8,500 students. These fifteen schools include
four K-5 schools, three K-8 schools, one K-6 school, three 6-8 schools,
one 7-12 school and three 9-12 schools. The latest reports reveal
that the Duplin County School District population is approximately
37% black, 48% white, 14% Hispanic and 1% classified as other.
Duplin County is also home to James Sprunt Community College and
is in close driving distance to several other colleges and universities
including Mount Olive College, East Carolina University and the
University of North Carolina-Wilmington.
