opportunities for all phases of law enforcement. For those who are interested in the law
enforcement phase, we have sworn deputy sheriff positions. For those who have an interest
in the corrections phase, we have positions available for civilian detention officers for
our detention division.

In order to apply for employment with our agency for either
a sworn or detention officer's position, you must meet the minimum requirements listed
below:
Deputy Sheriff
- Be 21 Years of age.
- High School graduate (minimum).
- Be a U.S. citizen (or naturalized).
- Undergo extensive background investigation.
- Must complete basic training in 1st year.
- FlexibilityBe 21 Years of age. to work all shifts.
- Have a good driving and credit history and
no criminal history.
- Must live in Duplin County if hired.
Detention Officer 
- Be 21 Years of age.
- High School graduate (minimum).
- Be a U.S. citizen (or naturalized).
- Undergo extensive background investigation.
