Increase in Duplin County’s Number of Confirmed Cases of COVID-19

Duplin County’s total number of laboratory confirmed positive COVID-19 cases has increased to 23 residents over the last several days. Duplin County Health Department receives daily notification of laboratory confirmed positive cases for those tested Duplin County residents. Of the 23total laboratory confirmed positive cases, 12of them have met clinical criteria to be released from isolation. At this time, our increase in the number of positive cases is linked to widespread community transmission. Duplin County Health Department continues to conduct a contact tracing investigation on each case.
