The new Duplin County Animal Care, Control, and Adoption Facility will feature:

•Healthy ventilation and waste disposal systems
•Animal receiving, examination, and grooming areas
•Indoor-outdoor kennel runs
•Public education and training facilities
•Waterproof surfaces for hygiene management
•Display kennels for adoptable animals
•Noise control design
•Inviting atmosphere and get-acquainted space for adopters

Community Participation

•Numerous volunteers assist with daily operations at the animal shelter
•Over 150 rescues and volunteer groups help transport, foster, and rescue animals that come through the shelter
•Paws for the Cause of Duplin raises funds and collects donations for the new shelter initiative
•Over $120,000 raised by 2019
•Over 5,400 citizens and donors support Paws for the Cause of Duplin
