The Register of Deeds Office has existed since the organization of our county’s government in 1750. The Register of Deeds serves as the custodian and manager for real estate documents and vital records.
We record deeds, deeds of trust, powers of attorney, assumed business names, military records, maps/plats and other miscellaneous documents related to real property. The office also maintains the records of all notary public commissions, the issuance of marriage licenses, certified copies of birth, death and marriage certificates.
