Animal Services

Purpose:
Duplin County Animal Services (DCAS) strives to protect the health and safety of our residents, ensure humane treatment of animals, provide temporary shelter for stray and unwanted animals and promote responsible pet ownership. Our officers strive to educate citizens on animal welfare laws to promote proper care and humane treatment of animals.

General Services Provided:

The staff at D.C.A.S provides a variety of animal care and animal control services to the residents of Duplin County including:

  • Animal bites
  • Animal nuisance complaints
  • Animal surrenders
  • Assisting with adoptions
  • Enforcing State and County laws relating to the humane treatment of animals
  • Investigating animal cruelty
  • Lost and found animal reporting
  • Providing spay/neuter education
